Product Alternative: Sodium Chloride 0.9%  IV Bags

We are sure you’re aware of the ongoing shortages of multiple intravenous (IV) fluid products from all three Australian suppliers (Baxter Healthcare, B.Braun, and Fresenius Kabi). Click here to read more information on the shortage. 

Given the essential nature of these products, we have secured a suitable alternative sourced from Lavoisier, France. These alternative saline fluids have been approved by the TGA under section 19A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989.

Please be aware that due to the nature of this shortage and increased transportation costs, there is a significant price increase compared to locally manufactured products. Unfortunately, we have to pass on some of these increasing costs to our customers.

We are currently accepting pre-orders for Lavoisier IV Bags. Please note that any orders placed cannot be cancelled. Stock of 100ml bags is expected in early October 2024, and 1000ml bags are expected in early November 2024.

You can continue to place orders for Baxter IV Solutions, but please note supply from Baxter is not expected until early 2025. If you require Sodium Chloride, we strongly recommend placing an order for the alternative products listed above.
